From 5th – 8th November 2017, distributors from across the globe traveled to Manchester, England for a world conference, hosted by Elcometer to celebrate 70 years in business.
The Elcometer World Conference, which was held at the Renaissance Hotel in Manchester, gave Elcometer distributors a chance to meet each other, network and exchange ideas. Members of staff from Elcometer presented a number of papers, which covered a brief history of Elcometer, performance overviews, reviews of recently launched products and plans for launches in the future.
Guest speakers included Bill Worms and Bob McMurdy from SSPC, who gave an insight into working with standards and Paul Abbott from Mahr who presented a paper on the pull-off method of adhesion testing alongside Elcometer’s Technical Manager, David Barnes.
On the Tuesday evening guests attended a gala dinner, held in the Great Hall at Manchester Town Hall and, on the final day, they visited Elcometer headquarters for a factory tour which included a visit to the new purpose-built production facility on an adjoining site.
“The world conference was a great way for our distributors to meet, network and celebrate 70 year of business for Elcometer” said Michael Sellars, MD, “We were able to give detailed demonstrations of our new products and even gave a tour of our factories meaning our distributors got to see where the products they sell are manufactured.”
